Today I was leaving my house from lunch to head back to work and I saw a big van from an HVAC place that was stuck in front of a house near us. I thought that I MIGHT be able to pull him out with the Jeep, but that was no good. The Jeep is good for little things, but not an over sized van that has a ton of stuff in it. We tried a couple of times and then some neighbors came out on their front step for a smoke break and were nice enough to come and try to push. I knew that the jeep wouldn't be able to do the trick and they all have big trucks, so one of them offered to try with his truck. I was super late going back to work, so I told them that I would leave the tow rope and that I was sorry, but had to go. Now that I think about it, was that rude to take off when I was the one that went over there in the first place? For some reason I feel really dumb. I am not really good at car things, Jerry usually does stuff like that. I probably did everything the hard way and at one point, I thought that I was in gear and he started rocking his van back and forth, but I was too late and didn't even move the van at all. He got out and said "well when the van was rocking you probably could have gotten me out but you waited too long." I wanted to say, "listen bucko, I am trying to help and I stink at this kind of thing so don't get on my case because YOU got stuck." So much for trying to be nice. Oh well. No one else get stuck because I will think twice before I help again.
